Dewey Riou brings over 26 years of distinguished experience as a Lieutenant with the Tallahassee Police Department, where he led in everything from investigations and narcotics to emergency management and community policing. A recipient of multiple awards for lifesaving actions, humanitarian efforts, and superior achievement, Dewey knows what it takes to lead under pressure and communicate with impact.
After retirement, he continued shaping leaders as an instructor in Florida’s Certified Public Manager program for nearly a decade—proving his commitment to developing others doesn’t stop when the uniform comes off.
Today, as the founder of D.H. Riou Communications, Dewey empowers professionals and organizations through dynamic leadership coaching, strategic communication training, and expert writing services. Armed with a master’s degree in administration from Barry University and Certified Public Manager credentials, he blends real-world experience with proven leadership principles.
